Time-resolved 13C, 23Na, 27Al, and 29Si MAS NMR spectroscopy coupled with isotopic labeling with 29Si and 13C isotopes was applied in situ for monitoring the hydrothermal synthesis of zeolite BEA. Homogeneous and heterogeneous mechanistic pathways were identified. The results show that multinuclear MAS NMR can be used to monitor the hydrothermal synthesis of various solids and for the design of novel outstanding materials. The work performed at the Lomonosov Moscow State University by Prof. Ivanova and her group. Full article is available at DOI: 10.1002/anie.201709039
